Subject: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Written By: AchtungBaby on 02/20/05 at 9:17 am

Remember when they were trying to figure out where to put the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.   They had so many choices of where to have it - but ended up with Cleveland.

In my opinion, Cleveland, was not the greatest choice.   From a family perspective, I would love to see the Hall - but I need to find a vacation site that will keep my kids interested - so I probally will never get to the Hall of Fame for a long time.

If you have been there, please tell us about it?

The Rock Hall belongs in Cleveland.

For the same reason baseball is in Cooperstown, and Football is in Canton.

The first Rock N Roll concert ever put on, by DJ Alan Freed, was in Cleveland.
It was called the Moondog Coronation Ball.

I am from Cleveland, and have a membership to the Rock Hall.  I have been there enough times that I don't need a map anymore when I go in.  It is really awesome, and I encourage anyone to come and see it.

It has many small movies about the history of rock, and a computer chart where u can track every band's musical influences.  They have band's costumes to keep the ladies entertained, and they have many traveling exhibits that come through there.  I once saw the John lennon exhibit that Yoko had donated and it was excellent.  They also have a HUGE movie screen exhibit where they give you a small sample of everyone who has been inducted. That is my fav part.

Anyone who wants more info can contact me....I will be glad to give any info I have.
