Subject: Do you want the New Kids?

Written By: Full_House_Fan on 02/17/05 at 5:18 pm

I vote 2.  They're not exactly eighties, but moreso than they are nineties.  Although they were still "Hangin' Tough" in 1990.

Yes, they are an eighties band. They were discovered in the mid 80s. Their first album came out in 1987.

No, they're a 1989 band. Though also 1990.  :P

Nirvana was formed in 1987, their first album came out in 1989, but didn't become popular until 1991 with their second or third album, when they ans other grunge bands kicked worthless junk like New Kids In The Block, Vanilla Ice, Wilson Phillips, etc. off the charts...  :D  8)

And strange that's coming from somebody who's into a certain '80's teen queen, hair bands, and a couple pop singers...  :D  ::)

Did they have a cologne line?  A "Full House" episode from 1990 mentioned NKOTB cologne.

Is that your Rain Man impression?

New Kids were a late '80s/early '90s  boy band.  They were terrible, but nothing compared to 'N-Sync, or (gasp!) Back Street Boys!
:P

Punk Dadd, I like your B-52's avatar!

NKOTB were rubbish. They were in fact an 80's version of the Backstreet Boys. I just could not stand them.

Most boy bands, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC  (or N'STINK as I like to call them!) included, are clones of NKTOB.  ::)

Yes. They are both Eighties and the Nineties band.
Their career lasted for almost 10 years. It began in mid '80 when Maurice Starr discovered them while ending in mid '90s with the release of their last album in 1994.

Backstreets, who were really only a few short years after New Kids yes, but NSYNC have more a mainstream rap than New Jack sound.

New Kids were an 80s band.

NKOTB were 90s, during their 1990-'94 period.

That's the difference.  Seriously.  :)

They were definately more 80s.  I remember their heyday was in 1987, 1988, and 1989.  Their 1990-'94 time was when NKOTB
was more laughed and picked on for being so campy.
