Subject: The Bangles vs the Go-Gos

The Go-Go's started the decade off with memorable hits like, "We Got The Beat", "Vacation", "Our Lips Our Sealed", "Head Over Heels".
The Bangles had major hits like, "Hazy Shade Of Winter", "Manic Monday", "Walk Like An Egyptian", "In Your Room", "Eternal Flame".
Who rocked better? 8)

I give the Go-Go's full credit for being trailblazers in the early 80's, but I liked the Bangles better. They seemed to have more of an edge...

I'd say go-go's. Bangles only strength was Susanna Hoffs. Also they went too poppy, the go gos didn't go that way until Carlisle was solo.

Two good poppy groups, Go Gos maybe a tad harder, Bangles more melodic and jangly, I had crushes on Jane Wiedlen and Suzannah Hoffs, I'm leaning toward the Bangles.

They're both great groups, but I like the Go-Go's songs best. :)

I liked both, but I voted for the Bangles. I only liked about 5 Go-Go songs.

the bangles were soooooooo much cooler. they weren't so preppy, they had more of an edge to them, which was great. and i ask you.. which is more creative

You speak truth :) The Go-gos were a bit yuppieish. Although the Bangles "Eternal Flame" is a bad song. Come on, it's a classics 80s stalker song!

he he, thanks for the back up. you're right about eternal flame! my friends and i love to sing it in dramatic voices with all the hand motions too, lol.

I love both...I picked The Go-Go's for music and the Bangles barely edged them out for the best looking 2 in the groups..
