Definitely 80-81 for me, so many great albums released;
1980
Telekon - Gary Numan
Scary Monsters - David Bowie
Kings Of The Wild Frontier - Adam & The Ants
Vienna - Ultravox
Metamatic - John Foxx
1981
Dance - Gary Numan
Prince Charming - Adam & The Ants
Rage In Eden - Ultravox
Tin Drum - Japan
So many other great albums too.  These are just the first ones I could think of...

I like 82-85 as it is the longest period represented and it's during the "meat" of the 80s but i also have many fond memories from the other periods.

I voted 80-81 followed by 86-89. But I'd rather say that the whole 1980-83 period was rather splendid. Eighties went downhill for a few years after it to start rising up again in 1987, '88 when Acid House explosion happened. Mid '80s were a quite bland period for music as culturally nothing that special happened then.
