I pick Queen. I'm not a fan of old metal but Queen rule. I only like Def Leppard for cheese value.

I guess I meant pre-1991 (Nirvana) hard rock. I don't know if Queen are metal, maybe 25+ years ago ;D

Queen by far. Queen were not metal, they weren't even hard rock. 'Operatic Rock' would be what I'd describe their music as.

I like both bands also, but after seeing both in concert, there is just no contest. Freddie Mercury was a genius on stage. So yet another vote for the killer Queen.

I don't know. They're both good old-style rock that was popular in the 1980s (although most 80s-rock was techno and cheese-metal)

Went with Def Leppard mostly on their first 3 albums. Hysteria still is a so so album for me. Its good but not Pyromania or High"n Dry. On Through the Night is classic.
