There is a eighties dance this saturday and just need a few ideas.. shirts, pants, hairs tyles, and different fads.. Thanks

I can talk about the guys I hung out with...the stoners. Tight jeans and t-shirts, mostly concert shirts. Long straight hair.

Skinny ties were also popular with men in the 80's and even into the early 90's.

Leather jackets were big, black, tan, brown or red, as were brightly coloured grafity shirts.It was very fashionable for a guy, straight or otherwise, to wear pink. The movie, The Wedding Singer might inspire you some! ;)

Only diff is I wore "ripped" jeans that were cut up and torn here and there and then twisted up and washed about 8-10 time with lots of bleach, definitely concert T's and long hair. also a blue jean jacket with lots of patches and pin on buttons and don't forget the high-top shoes.

Sport coat with colored tshirt underneath. (White sport coat with with black shirt underneath) very cool as well.
Hair. either do some crazy part (it really doesn't matter which way you part it. And sunghlasses Do not forget to wear some big glasses, aviators are good.

Few different ways,, depends on the group you hung around with.
stoners- long hair, metal t-shirts, chain wallets, black leathers
rock a billy - just look at the Stray Cats and Thunderbirds for this group
Preps- we wont even go there.
Punk -- just check old school Misfits, butt hole surfers, etc....
confused group- they wore thier plaid pants with floods, and God knows what else. But, they were cool and funny.
This might vary depending on where you live. I was from Detroit area in the 80's..

you could check google's image search for 80's fashion and stuff.
Just don't confuse 1989 clothes with 1981 clothes or anything. Each 3, 4, or 5 years were totally different, so it'd be really inaccurate.

I dressed then pretty much, the way I dress now, casually.
