I thought I'd join the fun too :P

I know, I'm one of the only gamers on here, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

yeah, i'm a bit of a gamer too. I really like sega's format, nice color , fun to play.

I loved SEGA in the late 1980's and GENESIS in the 1990"s. I played SLAP SHOT on the SEGA Masters system as well as CHOPLIFTER and others. For the GENESIS it was always the NHL HOCKEY series. So many great games on that system. DESERT STRIKE, MOONWALKER, HERZOG ZWEI, FIFA SOCCER, GENERAL CHAOS, TYRANTS, ECHO, and tons of others. I am biased as i never had that  many  Nintendo games and I admit the NES had a lot more games than the Masters system but I still loved the GENESIS.

i have to say sega is way better than nintendo . my husband still perfers sega over nintendo.my son has a nintendo gamecube that recently just wont read any of his disc. so i would have to to say nintendo.

  I still have operational consoles of Atari 2600, SMS, Genesis, and NES. Sega always had richer color and graphics, although NES has more games. But many of the NES games are the same format only with slightly different characters. Also NES seems to be made more cheaply and prone to breakage.
  I have to NES is by far worse because of the mass-produced, low quality of it's components and dull color.
  Besides, SMS has the 3-D glasses. Who remembers playing Zaxxon 3-D? I also remember for the Genesis: Toe-Jam & Earl, Ahhhh, Real Monsters, Afterburner II, Alex Kidd, Boogerman, Cannon Fodder, Earthworm Jim.................etc.

I think Nintendo was much better than Sega.

Sega is just generally better because I still feel that Nintendo has to cater to one specific audience, even though the come out with some M rated games here and then.

S. Genesis was such an awesome system  With games like Strider, Road Rash it was so much more awesome than s. nintendo. 

The one drawback of Sega is that they made way too many consoles.  Wherea, Nintendo made too many weird gadgets, the gun for duck hunt, and that 3D thing where you see in red, and only had like 2 games to play.

Playstation still is cooler, and even Panasonic 3D0 was cooler than both sega and nintendo.
Turbo Grafix 16 was  also very bad. 

I am ranting because I am at work and kinda bored.

At least Nintendo is still making products.Where the hell is Sega? ;D

Sega is still around. They still produce games, but not consoles. Some of the top sellers are from Sega.

I like both :)

I'm not sure who came first in the gaming market, but in one way, Nintendo started way earlier than Sega, like the 1880's(no that wasn't a typo).  They started out with playing cards, went to toys, and in the 70s and 80s, games.  Look it up online.

I voted for undecided, since I love them both.

It actually got popular in 1981 with Donkey Kong, and Sega was around in 1985 I think.
