Does anyone here remember Go-Bots? They where like Transformers but smaller, I have once, I think it as a fighter jet.

I sure do remember them! I wanted one so bad, and my Mom almost bought one for me at McDonald's, but she changed her mind.

the jet is named Leader 1 (how lame) he was the leader of the Go bots. CY-kill was the leader of the bad guys and Scooter was some annoying gay scooter.

i had the submarine go-bot. they were nothing more than second rate transformers. even the cartoon was bad.

I also thought that the Go-Bots where lame (look at us, we are like the Transformers, but only smaller!!!!  ::))  I love the robot's names too!  ::)  ;D The less said about the Rock Lords, the better!  ;D

They also had a movie called get this.... "GoBots: War of the Rock Lords".  ::) And it was released a year after the Transformers movie!  ::)  ;D

I remember them. They were the lighthearted ripoffs of The Transformers.

A problem with the Go-Bots was that they were written primarily by Hanna-Barbara, hence the childish Saturday morning nature of the show. 

Transformers on the other hand, had their mythology fleshed out a bit more on the TV show with the helping hand of Marvel. 

Which one of the toy robots was it where you could change the robot into a car? ???

Turbo, I think. God, I love the names of the Go-Bots!  ::)  ;D

But compare the Go-Bot names to a Transformer name.

"Turbo" vs. say "Sideswipe", "Hot Rod", "Sunstreaker"

or

a name like "Leader 1" vs. "Optimus Prime"


And what was their home planet name?  Go-Botron or something like that?  Go-Bot names just lacked the imagination piszazz of the Transformers. 

No... the Go-Bot's names just sucked!  ::)  ;D

I am curious as to why Transformers outlasted Go-Bots, did the makers of Transformers file a lawsuit, or did interest in Go-Bots die out?
