Subject: On Line 80's Radio
Written By: cougardawg5 on 11/25/04 at 7:29 pm
Anyone have any suggestions?
I've found a few on live365.com:
80's Experience
Pop Goes the 80's..my favorite cause they play the marginal hits like "Nobody" by Sylvia and "How Can I Survive" by Amy Holland (who is Michael McDonald's sister..know that? She was also a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist..for just one song!). But it has a limited play list and repeats.
My favorite is called Billboard Top 50..it plays the Billboard Top 50 chart for a particular week. Right now it's October 12 1979 ...you7 really don't remember "If You Remember Me", "So Good, So Right" and "Good Friends"...do ya??? Prob is that once they play the 50..it repeats and starts again..and again. I don't know when they start new play lists but as long as we can hear missing 80's hits like "If You Sail" (if you know that one, you get a chocolate kiss!), then I'm there!

If you want to listen to the more obscure side of 80s music, with a few well-known favorites thrown in sometimes, you really should check out http://www.flashbackalternatives.com . Of all the 80s stations on the net, this is the one I have listened to for almost four years now and have never gotten sick of. Plus you can make requests at any time and has a HUGE playlist of almost 20,000 songs! Or http://www.flashbackradio.com is a good one too. Not as good as Flashback Alternatives though.

Have you tried Radio@Netscape. It's a free download and it works in most browsers. It has a few 80's genres, as well as many others genres and eras.
Club977 is really good. Kudos to Howard for reminding me of it. It plays in Windows Media Player, Winamp, and i think Quicktime. Very few commercials. Do they still ask for donations?
You might consider downloading Winamp and and using Shoutcast(Winamp's site).
There's always Google to find more.
