Hiya
Saw a new release video clip on the weekend and missed who it was singing it ! Doncha hate that.
Anyway it was all about a girl who is obsessed with 1985.
There are big hefty guys in a garage dressed as the girls in the Robert Palmer Addicted To Love clip. The girl looked like a mix of Julie Roberts and Elle Macpherson but the clip went so fast I couldnt tell who she was.
Song mentioned Madonna among other stars of the decade.
No idea if it was an Aussie or US band.
Anyone else see it ?

I am oh-so-certain that the song was written for ME! Great song, great video! Everyone loves it, even the kids! Most requested at middle school dances, etc!! Too funny! ;)

The name of the rock group is called Bowling For Soup and the song is called "1985"

It's funny, I 1st heard this song w/my boyfriend on a drive near his hometown in PA. That was Sat Aug 21 (it was vacation time, it's easy for me to pinpoint it!). Just about every time we're together in his car we hear it! (And here where we live, the stations are calling it "new"! LOL ;D)

I had a good laugh when I read this topic BMG. I too saw this video last weekend, and like everyone else who has posted here, thought that the song was perfect for me. About two seconds later, I thought about - YOU!! Now why is that? ::) :)

They're a new band that had a monor hit in 2003 called "Girl That All The Bad Boys Want" and 'faded' away until "1985" came around in the summer of 2004.
IMO, it's a fun catchy song. Still on the Top 5 on "VH1 Top 20 Countdown"
Speaking of the 80's, Duran Duran "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" is near the top 10

Actually the band started way back in 1994! They have several albums. "Girl Al the Bad Guys Want" is probably the first song that ever got any airplay and was even nominated for a grammy! ;)
