Subject: Someone needs to bring back the Hypercolor shirt!!
Written By: totally80schick on 09/17/04 at 11:10 pm
The Generra Hypercolor shirt was like the "tye-dye" of the 80's. What a cool concept and an unusual twist on clothing.  Old / used shirts are being sold on Ebay every day for a mint! Someone should bring these back into production. This time they should create even more colors and add maybe a skirt, shorts, tank-tops, etc. Fun stuff to wear!! :D
I believe there would be a big market for these, even moreso than the 80's originally had. Anyone else back me on this??

ugh, no! those shirts were horrible, and all they really did was change color around your hot sweaty armpits.

I loved my hyper color, but after so many washes it didn't work. But still enjoyed them. :)

I must browse this one on ebay, I don't recall by name alone what this looks like! What other brands were you into? I distinctly remember my 80's brand fetishes, they've never gone away I'm still a major labelwhore and trend follower. But my heart is in 80's fashion which is making a huge comeback!! Vintage 80's is so hot now, the fuller skirts with the tiers or layers, the bold stripe patterns in dizzying bright colors, tie dye is fresh again for skirts and hoodies, I could go on an on, ok I will...puffy sleeves on shirts, metallics, ballet slipper shoes, colorful flats, Flash dance shirts the off the shoulder look, skinny jeans tucked into knee length boots, fur coats everywhere my Elle was loaded with furs and Fendi's runway has a zillion furs, colorful velour, and finally huge rhinestone type brooches all thanks to the 80's a generous reflection of 80's overdone and overthetop fashion is back YEAH!!!
Sorry for the babble there, not sure anyone really cares, but thank you to anyone who read through all my fashion crazed babble, :D
I have a fashion theory...whatever was in style 20 yrs. ago is currently in style. For example when I was in h.s. back in the 80's it was all about the 60's. We all wished we were hippies, wearing jeans with holes in them unabashedly and bleach staining our jeans for a worn look. As well as crazy 60's retro prints and colorful beaded necklaces. All my friends and I wished we were Edie Brickel(sp) and The New Bohemians, the one hit wonder, "What I Am". Alright gotta go put my baby to bed!

I think your theory is very true.
