Subject: Anyone remember......The Racoons?

Remember the cartoon called "The Racoons"?
These 3 raconns lived together in a tree and were friends with a Sheepdog and his son.
The little sheepdog always had a star around his collar....
They were always having confrontations with with an aardvark lookin guy named
Syril Sneer.

I remember The Raccoons, in the UK it was originally shown on BBC1, in the timeslot that the long running soap Neighbours now fills and has done since about 1987, which is 5.30...They still rerun it now and again..I would love to buy most of the songs from it if there was a soundtrack available, I'm guessing 1983....I could be wrong though.

The Racoons first started to air on TV in 1980, with The Christmas Racoons, followed by The Racoons on Ice in 1981, and The Racoons and The Lost Star in 1983. The series itself began in 1985 and ended in 1992.

I used to watch 'The Raccoons' while 'Going Live' was on the air back in the late 80s.

As soon as I see it, I'm going after it too - I reckon it's only a matter of time. Even the freakin' 'Family Ness' has just recently come out on DVD! ;D

La Ligna, what the hell? No. Never heard of it.
It was only about 5 minutes long . . . Probably showing my age now.
I want the Poddington Peas as well, they were outstanding.
I do remember it's really awful theme tune.
What the hell was that weird Pirate show, where there was some guy Mabel or something (Not the KOTR Winner) and there were these bad guys who turned the sea black.
No idea, mate.
Then there was, some show.. He-Man or something, I forget.
He-man was class!
AND CAMELOT! The Theme music for Camelot was Broken Wings by Mr. Mister. That show KICKED ASS!
I don't know much about that one either. The closest I got to that was Prince Valliant.
Oh, I bought 'Trap Door' on DVD a while back . . . That was an experience!

Do I remember The Raccoons? Of course! I used to watch that cartoon all the time; it was a fundamental part of my childhood. For some reason I always loved the three little pigs who worked for Cyril Sneer...
Anyway, I didn't realize that the show was well-known outside Canada. Cool. :)

Did any of you French Canadian sorts watch Cobra?
It was awesome, I watched it in France.
It was hard to tell what was happening sometimes but still great. There were like.. two guys I think, then loads of chicks with big boobs.

The theme music for Prince Valliant wasn't 'Broken Wings'. You are probably thinking of something else.

He-Man was awesome because they never messed with the simple formula. You knew what was going to happen but it left you with a smile on your face everytime. 8)

Yep, Captain Planet happened at the turn of the 90s when environmental matters were temporarily introduced to children. However, Widget the World Watcher was even more irritating with that butch woman type voice chatting with a computerised goofy head.
Bring back Denver the Last Dinosaur! How much does that theme tune rock?

Apart from Run With Us (The Raccoons Theme) and Denver the Last Dinosaur, two of the greatest Cartoon themes of the 80's were
