Had to go with "Higher Love", but I think the Roll With it album is underrepresented here. The list should include "Holding On" and "What The Night Can Do". Also, Vice fans like me might also like to see "There's A River".

Gotta good Steve Winwood story-Once, in my younger wilder days he was playing at the
Music Hall in Boston. We went on the night to get tickets but they were sold out. I was standing outside with a friend just hanging out waiting and a couple of guys from the first band, Lindisfarne, came out. They were leaving and gave us their backstage passes. Way Cool. Our friends who had tickets could see us and went wild. We were invited back to the post show party, but I wasn't into the groupie thing so I said no. My parents didn't raise a fool, a bit foolish sometimes, but not a fool. 8) ::)

Arc Of A Diver....followed by While You See A Chance :)
While You See A Chance....followed by (not listed) Second-Hand Woman. ;)
Arc of a Diver is a good example of music in the '80s BEFORE MTV took over.

I picked 'other' and my choice is Night Train. I also love Can't Find My Way Home from his Blind Faith days. (even tho it's from the 60s and not 80s)

I always thought that was a Clapton-Blind Faith-song.

I always thought that was a Clapton-Blind Faith-song.
Winwood wrote the lyrics, but Clapton may have written the music. (when I looked it up, I could only find credits for the lyrics) I always thought that Winwood sang vocals on it, but I could be wrong. (I didn't find anything on which one sang lead for this song) It always sounded like Winwood to me, but like I said, I could be wrong. I know that Clapton put it on the Crossroads box set.
Nonetheless...it's a great song. :)

I just assumed it was Clapton because the content was so ,ummmm, nihilistic, "wasted and I can't find my way home"
was the way he was for a long time.

Not only is Valerie (original 1982 version) the best Steve Winwood song, it's also the greatest song of all time :)
A second choice would be "Holding On" followed by the 1987 "Valerie" remix 8)
