Everyone likes to talk about Don Henley's music from the 80's, but there was another Eagle who had some hits. Here's every Glenn Frey single I could think of, so let me know which ones you like. Hope to see some votes soon!

Glenn is my Favorite Eagle....I think Henley is good, but over-rated. I chose "The One You Love" from '82.....but I must say that I like ALL his solo stuff...especially the whole 1984 "All-nighter" LP ;)

I'm glad there's been such a big response in 24 hours, but even more surprised that so many people love my favorite song as much as I. I hope, though, that soon there'll be more votes for the others, particularly the singles off Soul Searchin'. The only thing odd is that so far no one's picked "The Heat Is On"! Thanks, guys. Of course, I'd like to know why there were no new songs sung by Glenn on the Eagles's "Very Best" CD set. Plus you'd think they could've included "The Girl From Yesterday". BTW RocknRoll, thanks for your support, but I'm afraid "Part Of Me, Part Of You" didn't come out until 1991. Great song though, from an equally great album, "Strange Weather". Keep voting, guys!

Henley is my Favorite Eagle....I think Frey is good, but over-rated. I chose "The One You Love" from '82...I heard it on the radio yesterday and it brought back some nice memories. Again another good pre-MTV song.

I chose "The One You Love" I love the solo sax on it, although I'm realising he liked the sax on a lot of his stuff. "You Belong to the City" is a close 2nd choice.

This is one of those polls that has thrown up a surprise. I figured that 'The Heat Is On' would be top, but to my surprise it's running 3rd in the poll.
Is it a victim of just too much airplay, or what? I mean, I love 'Smugglers Blues' and to a lesser extent 'You Belong' - but they can't hold a candle to the slickness and funk of 'The Heat Is On'.
Or is it just me that has no taste! ;D

...not that I had a favorite song back in the days when a megabyte was an entire application suite, rather than a single vacation snapshot. Never underestimate the bandwidth of a glovebox full of 5.25" floppy disks.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I never found the original, (although I did rediscover the Programmer's Blues), and I could sing the following awesome 2004 parody - Sysadmin's Blues - today. (Swap out "Telluride" for "China" and it not only scans better, it's up to date.)

I loved that cheesy Miami Vice era video, but I couldn't find a Youtube version worth posting. The only one they've got has captions in Chinese, and cuts out the dialog.
