Rubiks Magic flippy puzzles (made with glass panes and fishing line). On a table I could solve the small one in 6 seconds, and the large one in either 12 or 20 seconds, dont remember which. I also had a Rubiks cube but didnt figure out how to solve it till like 94 or so.
Legos were my favorite thing to build with. I didnt get into Legoland but I created things out of the Expert Builder / Technic sets. I tried Construx and some other systems but nothing beats Legos.
I also coudlnt live without my Recording Walkman, but that was July 1989 and later. I made a tape that I still have called The Summer Of 89.
I had a Speak & Math, seemed like I was the only one. 1st grade had a Speak & Read in their stash. Seems everyone else had a Speak & Spell. Have to say the Speak & Spell was my favorite of the three.

Oh I forgot about Speak and spell..I had one.
I also made tons of tapes...I would record them off the radio over and over..even if I already had the song I would do it again. Plus me and my friends would record ourselves talking!

The 80s were when I started to receive, Johnson and Smith catalogues. Tons of weird useless crap. I could peruse the catalogue for hours.

I remember when I used to have a tape recorder and I'd bring it outside on special holidays like July 4th and I'd tape record the sounds and my commentating on my show. Those were good times. :)

Battle Beasts! Remember them? "Fire! Fire burn Wood!" "Water! Water put out Fire!" "Wood! Wood beat Water!"
I really did try to collect the entire line, but i think I only got 70--80 out the 100+ figures. I also had the animal-head vehicles and the playsets that were shaped like critters. The best one was the Phoenix Fire Base. I never did get the Sunburst Warrior, though.
Then, when I needed money a few years back, I sold the whole shebang all on Ebay. :\'(

Me too. That reminds me of one thing that I wish my mom wouldnt have given away. My Sweet Pickles books. I had the whole A-Z collection, plus about 3 of the collaboration books. She gave them to the school library so I know they got trashed.

I had my Masters of the Universe figures. I had so much fun playing with those. The best was Thunder Punch He-Man. You'd put caps in his backpack, then snap it closed. then when you turned his body to make him punch, "*POW*" 8)
I also had Super Powers action figures, and some of those old rubber LJN WWF Wrestlers by Titan. I even had the plastic wrestling ring so they could wrestle in, but one too many pile drivers cracked a whole through the bottom of it ;D

I vaguely remember that, also I remember Domino Rally, many varieties of action figures, legos, Brio train sets, remote controlled race cars, a Socrates console and classic board games such as Sorry!, Monopoly and mini records.

GI Joe and Star Wars were everywhere at my house! Other than that it was basically any action figure line... He-man, Thundercats, M.A.S.K. Also liked quirky things like Asterix and the Smurfs.
