What are your favorite years of the '80s.

Since the '80s message board gets so many posts -- more than the other decades -- the '80s must have been a special time for many, soooooo for that reason you can pick up to five (5) wonderful years!

Let's see...I think I'll go with 80,81,82,84 and 85!

I'll go with 1980, the year I had my first serious boyfriend, and then 82-83, when started going to all the dance clubs with my friends and just having a blast. It really was  special time.

For me, I think the best years for music in the '80s would be 1980, 1982, 1985 and 1986. ;)

1985...the year I graduated and the year I met my husband!  Also the year I formed my best friendships...still going today.

I pick 80 to 84, just cuz they are my favorite years music wise, (Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran, you know!)

1985 is my pick...  It stands out as the year i went to 4 concerts.  Its good to see other Duran Fans!  1985 was also the year that a girlfriend gave me the lyrics to all the Duran songs.  To my shock, I was incorrect about more lryics than i care to admit.. LOL

1985!!! Sometimes what makes a good year are the songs that come out in either winter or summer. Well this year had both. As a heavy metal rocker, I had dated a girl who listened to pop music. Well I was pretty much forced to listen to "her stuff". REO and Foreigner had just come out with their ballads and to make a long story short, I liked the wham! and madonna stuff. The summer had "into the groove" and a cool howard jones song. Perfect swimming weather everyday with my friends with some cool tapes like Prince (pop life & raspberry beret) and awesome ballads from Bryan Adams (Heaven) and Survivor (The Search Is Over) and there you go!!!!

I picked the years 1980-84 when electronic music was at its peak!! All my favourite artists were in their prime, save The Smiths who'd only just started in 1983 and would go on a few years longer.

8) 1984, 85 and 86, I had the VERY BEST times of my life then, everything was good, the music, Miami Vice, my most adored series was full blast then, I was MADLY in love with Don Johnson and
I lived (and still live) where the Miami Vice took real action....Miami! I had the grand opportunity to watch one of the episodes being filmed from the window of our office in Downtown, I sincerely and honestly miss those years like anything else! :(

I picked 84, 86 and 89 as my special years. As for my special era of 80s music . . . Probably 84 - 89 (but I like it all).  :)

I would say the early 80's... I like the music in that time period. I was still in grade school/middle school and didn't have any worries in life and could have fun...  ;D

Most of them.  Some were tougher than others, but for the most part the '80's were GOOD to me.  High school - class of '84 and college class of '89.  All GREAT!!!

I picked 85-88. Junior high years. Great music, great movies, great friends. All the food even tasted better then. Best years of my life.

I chose between 1985 and 1989 because those were the years where I first garnered my first memories, which happened to be in the '80s  ;)

My favorite years would include 1981 which is my birthyear (as if that wasn't obvious) and 1985-8 since they were the best years of my childhood.
