Subject: Anyone have any idea what this character would wear????

-To whom it may concern,
<P> I was e-mailing you for some help in finding clothes for the year 1985. I am an African American male in a theatre production this summer and I am trying to find a style for my character.
<P> My character is a 21- 29 year old New York City character. His mom is an Italian East Boston character. My dad is a Jazz Musician from the Bronx. My character just graduated college from Rhode Island School of Design. Throughout the show he is also the Narrator so there are not to many costume changes within the show. Can you help me with any recommendations on outfits my character would wear? Please. It would be greatly appreciated.
<P> The clothing I was looking for in my character is
-Long dress pants (Brown, Black or Navy Blue)
-Some type of dress shoes
-A long sleeve, maybe short sleeve shirt
-Some type of coat
-What would his hairstyle be too.
<P> I hope this gives you somewhat of an understanding of my character. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
