Other: I prefer 'Twistin' by the pool'. Great catchy rock 'n' roll style.

Dire Strait's 'Romeo and Juliet' is pretty good - a bit too long though.

Hmm that was actually a hard decision, but I went with So Far Away.
I couldn't chose between Sultans of Swing, Money For Nothing, or Walk of Life.  ALL Great Songs!

I love them all too, but I'm gonna pick Sultans of Swing for now.

I like "Sultans Of The Swing" for sentimental reasons and "Money For Nothing" for its blue collar honesty (and yes, its great video), but toro toro taxi, I went with "Skateaway" (1980). 8)

;) ;D

Hmmm...my favorite one is the eight-minute-long "Money For Nothing", with "Sultans Of Swing" and "Walk Of Life" tied for second. 8)

I chose "Walk of Life" only because it brings back memories of going down to the waterslides in 1986. But, I like many, many of their songs.

Here's some interesting trivia about that song ...

Sting is credited as co-writer of Money For Nothing because the lyric "I Want My MTV", which he sings in the song, was a re-write of the chorus to his 1980 Police hit "Don't Stand So Close to Me"  8)

When I first heard about it a few years ago, I was like "How did I not notice this before" LOL

Funny thing is, I always instantly recognized Sting's voice throughout the song but never connected Dire Straits to it (that's because I was a youngin' at the time)

'Money For Nothing' is possibly my 80's theme tune.

'Brothers In Arms', 'The Mans Too Strong' and 'Sultans Of Swing' are all TOP class tunes though.
