It's got to be
"It's My Life" - one of the best songs of the '80s. 8)
(and no, I don't like that recent re-make)
;) ;D

I actually like that recent remake, because it sounds so 80s. I never knew it was even a remake till recently, and I never remember hearing the original.

Life's What You Make It
Runners up:
It's My Life
Today
Happiness is Easy
Another Word
Talk Talk
Living in Another World
....and so many more!
I'm personally more of a synth Talk Talk fan. They tried to distance themselves from their synth roots, claiming they did it out of economic necessity. When they got enough cash to make an album the way the wanted, the result was "The Color of Spring." TCS is their greatest musical accomplishment. Then they went too far in the other direction. "Spirit of Eden" and "Laughing Stock" are too droney and abstruce. I mean, I like a lot of droney, abstruce music, as in Pauline Oliveros or Phill Niblock, but the later Talk Talk albums didn't cut it in that realm.
Lee Harris and Paul Webb (Webb wrote "Another Word") released some interesting worldbeat/percussion music under the name O-Rang. Mark Hollis put out a solo CD in the mid-'90s, but it sounded like a parody of "Spirit of Eden." I sold my copy to a used record store!

It's My Life. As much as I like Gwen Stefani, I really didn't like her remake.

"It's My Life", which is alos my favorite Video by them. If you play "Talk, Talk" and "It's My Life" at the same time both songs are almost identical....

I know what you mean. I heard a snippet of the original about a month ago when a local radio station did a "then and now" take on the song. Only the remake was played the whole way through. I was so bummed!  :(

Personally I think that No Doubts version is awful. It has destroyed a great song and turned it into a fluffy pop song

My favourite would have to be the self-titled single, which appears on the 1982 soundtrack to "Night Shift" :)

"It's My Life"
The song "Talk Talk" is a little on the boring side I.M.O. but would be my second pick. :)
