Galaxy High School is my favourite cartoon of all time. It chronicled the adventures of two earth kids (Doyle and Aimee) on another planet - brilliant. A close second was 'Around the world with Willy Fogg'. which was a great cartoon epic based on the novel with a lion as the main character.Third goes to The Racoons. Cyril Sneer was my favourite character.

8) I really can't say I have a favorite 80's cartoon. I liked pretty much whatever came on. Inspector Gadget, Smurfs, Snorks, Saturday Supercade, The Comic Strip, Teen Wolf, Fonzie & the Happy Days Gang, Mork & Mindy (yes the previous two were animated, though it didn't last too long), Pound Puppies, ShirtTales, The Biskitts, Thundercats, He-Man, She-Ra, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Robotech, Star Blazers, Tranzor-Z, Transformers, Go-Bots, Ghostbusters by Filmation, The Real Ghostbusters (based on the Bill Murray movie), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Richie Rich, Pac-Man, Silver Hawks, BraveStarr. . . .I could go on listing all the cartoons I watched in the 80's that I liked!

You're absolutely right, Mr. Nally. The lyrics "Bill Clinton plays a sax" in the theme song should be a dead giveaway, since he was president in the 90s.

Since I posted on this thread exactly one year ago today, I will answer yet again....
I didn't like ANY mainstream cartoons made in the '80s. The '80s was a low ebb in animation. Therefore, I'm going to say THE SIMPSONS. "The Simpsons" didn't become a pop culture phenomenon until 1990, but the prototype became a feature on the Tracey Ullman Show circa 1987, and the series premiered in 1989.
That said, I think it is high time the series wound down. As much as I love "The Simpsons," it has outlived its pop-cultural relevance.

In the early eighties, definitely Pac Man. Made it a point to get out of bed Saturday mornings to catch this 'toon. Would've ruined my whole day, had I missed it...
Mid eighties my interest in cartoons waned. In the mornings before school I might catch an episode of classic The Flintstones or some toy tie-in like Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. My fave in the mornings was Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats. After school, was in the habit of catching Inspector Gadget or Voltron. Go-Bots, if I went to Roger's house after school groove ;) on...

RANDOM MEMORY ALERT!! *bw-e-e-e, bw-e-e-e, bw-e-e-e* <---klaxon alarm ::)
Okay. Junior year of high school (85-86)...
I had to leave for school immediately after the morning's episode of Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats had ended. One morning stands out because, after Heathcliff had ended and as I was preparing to jet, Chris and Jeff show up with a bottle of vodka Jeff had swiped out of his mom's liquor cabinet. We sat around for an hour-or-so drinking vodka and 7up out of these huge plastic cups (like you'd find at a 7-11) talking s**t and about how much we loved each other...
Afterwards, we staggered down the hill to the bus stop, Chris and Jeff half carrying me (I still think they were not really hammered, but were just faking it...). Hopped on the next bus to Rodeo and I threw-up on the floor. I watched in horror as the stream of vodka I had just yakked inched it's way toward the bus driver :o The entire bus smelled of vodka! I thought we were busted..!
Jeff's mom goes to Walnut Creek to work each morning, so we head to his house. Upon entering they drop me on the couch and disappear into the kitchen to "cook lunch". As I'm laying there, snot slinging drunk, watching Lord of the Flies, or Tarzan, or Eight Is Enough, or something, I hear them laughing in the kitchen...
"WTF!?", I say to myself groove ;) on all...

Bringing-up Heatchcliff sparked that particular memory. That happens, sometimes. Most are more like still images than video clips...
Oh, I just noticed the first season of Eight is Enough hasn't made it to DVD. Bummer...
The scenario I described above took place, to the best of my recollection, in late winter '86 which would've made me sixteen y/o groove ;) on...
Edited to add: "first season"...

Denver the Last Dinosaur
Dennis the Menace
Camp Candy

Count Duckula
There's one I've been trying to remember the name of for years. I don't remember much, except that it featured a villainous movie producer and I believe the main character was a girl. I know, not really much to go on. The show played on weekday mornings around the time of Dennis the Menace and The Real Ghostbusters. Any ideas??

I watched the Simpsons alot in it's first couple of years. I remember a bunch of my friends and I gathering at one of their apartments to watch the Simpsons Christmas special. It was kind of an event and another excuse to party...
An Applebees in Virginia Beach would have Simpsons Night every Thursday and show it on the big screen. They would serve Butterfingers - a mixed drink using butterscotch schnapps, Bailey's, I think, and cream or milk...
