Subject: New Interactive chat coming!!!
Written By: ChuckyG on 12/03/98 at 04:54 p.m.
Check out the site this weekend, I just upgraded my web service so that I can offer a real time chat, all it requires is Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0, and it's self-transparent, no plugin needed, all Java based.. I've tried it out and it's so simple to use it's sick... (Though I don't know how hard it is for me to install on the site, that bridge will be crossed Friday night) I'll post the URL in the messageboard as soon as it becomes available...

D'oh!!! We'll miss you man... you could try it and see if it works, their's a link to the test one at www.web2010.com, if you look at their premier accounts...
it's only costing me $5 more a month to get 50 megs of space, unlimited transfer rates and a java chat room.. and since the site takes aroung 18 megs and my current limit was 25... well, seemed like a good investment in the site.. might I add, I actually like my web host? these guys rock

Retro: I feel your pain!! I have WebTV and can't access JAVA-based chat areas! I emailed WebTV some time ago to ask when they might upgrade with JAVA and they replied that they were "working on it". Pretty vague!!

Well, I know this is a little off topic, but according to most of the posts in the NGs, webtv will never never never have JAVA because a) not enough memory on a webtv box and b) JAVA isn't owned by Microsoft. Yeah, most NG posters scream a lot about it, but truth be told, we are out in the cold as far as JAVA goes for the duration. >sigh<
