Subject: Title unknown but most of the lyrics
Written By: Breana on 11/30/98 at 06:26 p.m.
Okay here it goes. This song is so beautiful. It sounds like it is sung by Pat Benatar but I can't find it anywhere. I adore it and I hope someone knows it.
"Once there was a man
And he lived to sing the lion song
As he traveled on the road of hope
One love is the light
Shining over every mountain top
It will lead us to the higher ground
One day every heart will beat
Strong against the night
Let it be done right now
(guitar riff)
Once there was a man
And his words became a song of love
And his song became the golden dream
One love is the night
Shining over everyone that you meet(?)
It will lead us to the higher ground
One day every eye will see truth before the light
Let it be done right now
Some way
So long
Because our love is strong
(Something here)
Tremble
Will lead us home(?)
Forever
Hear the lion song
Voices crying like a desert wind
Yeah he's gone up to his father's land
(Sounds like Africa) tonight
For you truly are amid our hearts
Thats not the whole thing but I can't understand the rest. Its really beautiful. Please let me know.

It's called "One Love" and it's by Pat Benatar, it's on her Greatest Hits album... which I highly recomend...

I think it is also on her All Fired Up double CD compilation (under $26 in most stores -- I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed). She is probably the best rock vocalist around, smooth on the ballads (especially check out her r&b songs on the compilation or get the album "True Love", came out in the early '90s so it may be hard to find), and to steal a line, can "scream" with the best of the rockers. Geez, after my post on the BandAid thread above, I am acting like I'm the vocalist judge. Need to stop this annoying habit!!! On the other hand, maybe this should be a new survey (best vocalists of the 80s)???

I accidently deleted someone's message (again, that's like three this week) so whoever it was might want to post again if they don't see their message here...
