when i was child(in the 70's),i started rolling up my pants or pinning them and tucking them in my socks. i did this because i was so skinny,the only pants that fit me were too high. So i was just hoping the other kids wouldn't make fun of me if they thought i was doing it on purpose. it worked, and by the mid 80's everyone was doing it, even some guys.

as far as hair styles for guys, i've got one word: mullet. (the most horrendous hairstyle ever concocted)

>I graduated with 87 people in my class so I guess we were pretty rural. Mid 80s we wore jeans that were very tapered at the bottom, often with zippers. It was common to wear 2 button up shirts with the collars flipped up. Lots of bangle bracelets and big loop earrings. Bows in the hair were very popular and we were called "bow heads". Blue jean jackets with lots of pins on them were also popular. Big shirts with wide belts were pretty common too. My school was in the country so we also wore ropers and colored Wranglers if you were a kikker. Hope this helped!!

Well, I was in school up until graduation of 1990 in a small town in Louisiana, and if I think back to 80s clothing, it wasn't THAT extreme. Parachute pants were certainly out by then:)
I can tell you where we were from, the big thing were penny loafers (preferably black and shiny) with NO SOCKS, we RARELY wore socks at that time. No matter what shirt was worn, we rolled up the sleeves (especially short-sleeved shirts)...not like the 50s where it was rolled all the way up to the shoulder, but more like at least 2-3 times. Blue jeans were either Z-Cavaricci (excuse the misspelling) or Girbaud jeans. Guys always wore a gold chain of some kind, nothing gawdy but always something around the neck. Last but not least, we POURED on Drakkar Noir cologne like it was going out of style:) Hope this helps.
