The fertelli that pretended to hang himself is also the one who knocked out the cop, using some twisted pipe that he then placed on top of the unconscious officer. The other brother was outside with their mother. He was pouring gasoline around the police station while she was eating crackers in the black "ORV, 4-wheel drive... bullet holes the size of matzoh balls!" By the way, check your spelling - it's "The Goonies," not Gonnies.
