Subject: singer/movie from early 80's
i am in need of some help. my frind and i are looking for the name of a singer who played a concert in vancouver around 1985. she thinks his name was rick something and he also starred in a movie around the same time. the movie was about him playing a father or something like this. i know it is not much to go on but it is all i have. can somone please help me find the answer. it may have even been in 1986 he was also very popular for his ballads

Rick Springfield is the only singer that comes to my mind. He did soap operas and at least one movie in the 80s (although I didn't see it so I don't know if he played a father).

The movie was called "hard to hold" and he definately did not play a father, he played a rock star(big stretch).actor/singers were a dime a dozen in the 80's. Maybe if you could name a song it will help.
