Subject: Teen Wolf Soundtrack
Does a soundtrack exist for this movie? If so, who would sell it? I've checked every major vendor on the web that I could think of. I am specifically looking for "Shooting for the Moon" by Amy Holland.

This is an excerpt from the answer I posted on this message board back on Saturday, November 13, 1999, in response to someone else who also inquired about a soundtrack to this movie:
There was indeed a soundtrack released for "Teen Wolf", the 1985 flick starring Michael J. Fox. However, it is quite rare! In October of '99, while on a trip to Toronto, Canada, I FINALLY found the "Teen Wolf" soundtrack on cassette! Of course, the cassette itself was Canadian, and at this time I cannot confirm whether or not the soundtrack was also issued here in the U.S. (The soundtrack was released on a tiny Canadian indie label, called Jackal Records. Obviously, it must've been issued on vinyl LP up in Canada at the time as well. But being that this was 1985, and a tiny indie label we're talking about, I SERIOUSLY doubt it exists on CD!) I've since sold the cassette to a friend (I bought it for him, not myself); therefore, I'm afraid I won't be able to dub any copies...
However, I can add this much - the soundtrack contains nine songs by various artists, as follows: SIDE ONE: 01) "Flesh on Fire" - JAMES HOUSE; 02) "Big Bad Wolf" - THE WOLF SISTERS; 03) "Win in the End" - MARK SAFAN; 04) "Shootin' for the Moon" - AMY HOLLAND; SIDE TWO: 05) "Silhouette" - DAVID PALMER; 06) "Way to Go" - MARK VIEHA; 07) "Good News" - DAVID MORGAN; 08) "Transformation" (instrumental) - MILES GOODMAN; and 09) "Boof" (instrumental) - MILES GOODMAN. As you can probably tell, most of these artists were relative unknowns, although Amy Holland had already scored a moderate hit here in the U.S. in the Fall of '80 w/ "How Do I Survive". (I already have her album w/ that song - and incidentally, it didn't hurt that she was also the wife of pop singer Michael McDonald!)

Hi there!
I don't know about this Canadian release! But the guy is right, the Soundtrack was released on LP and to my knowledge also on CD! I own the German LP Version! It's a great soundtrack, spectacular!!! My dad bought it for about 2 Dollars at a street market! So I was lucky, very lucky!!! In a catalogue here in Germany, a CD is listed! It has been presse in 1985, but I don't know where to get it??? It's ultra-rare I think! For more details and soundfiles from the soundtrack visit my 80s website (containing a special on Teen Wolf) at www.bndlg.de/newclear
... Big Bad Wolf!
Yours, Tobi
