The song is actually titled "Never Say Never", and was by the group Romeo Void, a minor hit here in the U.S. in the Summer of '82. It originally appeared on the band's 1982 indie EP, "Never Say Never". They were then picked up by a major label (Columbia) as a result of the success of the title track, and the song was subsequently included on their full-length debut for the label, 1982's "Benefactor". Unfortunately, both the "Never Say Never" EP and "Benefactor" are long out-of-print, and neither has ever been re-issued on CD here in the U.S...

There is a Romeo Void "best of" called "Warm, In Your Coat". The song "Never Say Never" is of course, on it.
The song itself can be found on a number of comilations including "Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits of the 80s, volume 6" from Rhino Records, and "Richard Blade's Flashback Favorites, Vol 2" on Oglio records. The version on the Reichard Blade compilation is the extended (5:54)version. I believe that the version on "Warm, In Your Coat" is also the 5:54 version.
Romeo Void also had a Top-40 hit with "A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)" in 1984, off their album "Instincts".
