Subject: Help with 80s dance song artist
I'm trying to find out who the artist was for two early/mid-80's songs. Both were female solos with a lot of synthesized background music. The first one could be called 'Just be good to me'. Some of the lyrics I can remember: 'friends--tell me I am crazy, that I'm wasting time with you you'll never be mine. That's--not the way I see it, I feel you're already mine. And you I won't try to change. Just be good to me--in the morning just be good to me--in the afternoon.' Something like that. I probably combined some verses.
The second song might be called 'Give me the night' or 'give me tonight'. 'Give me tonight, then if you don't want to stay, (can't remember). You'll see I'm right, you'll get to know me....'
Thanks for any help!

Both favourite dance tracks of mine.
BTW, if you like SOS band, check out the best ever track called 'The Finest' not too mention similar artists like Loose Ends and Cherelle.
Matt.

That second song looks like "give me tonight" by shannon.... the singer that performed the other 80's hit "let the music play"

If you like the SOS Band (like I do), you'll also dig UK band Loose Ends. Had a hit with 'Hanging On A String'. Very good. I really LIKED black music in the eighties, much unlike today's r&b stuff.
Now about Shannon. She features on the album 'Darkdancer' (1999) by Les Rhythmes Digitales, a UK (yeah, not French at all) one man band THAT'S VERY MUCH INTO THE EIGHTIES - visuals, the mere sound. ABSOLUTELY GREAT. (Another guest vocalist on 'Darkdancer' being Nik Kershaw.) Les Rhythmes Digitales are believed to break through this year. The band's one of the opening acts of EURO 2000, the big soccer championship that's being held in Belgium and the Netherlands next summer.
