Subject: Soft Cell Song
We recently heard a song by Soft Cell at a local restaurant. We neglected to ask which album it was on or even the name. We were thinking of getting a copy so wonder if any of you might know. It started and ended with a long clarinet instrumental. There were not many lyrics.
Thanks, Mark

The song that you are looking for may be 'Say Hello, Wave Goodbye'. The extended version has an intro piece that features a clarinet solo that lasts for just over three minutes!

it must be pretty long, the version of the song I have is five minutes long and doesn't have a solo at the beginning or the ending.. just played it to make sure..
it's definately not Tainted Love though, I've heard several versions of that, and none have any clarinet in them

Thanks for the comment Chuck. I don't have the album version but I popped-in the CD last night to double check. The extended mix (9:11) does indeed have a long clarinet (or oboe) piece in the intro. This may not be the song that Mark is looking for however, as it has vocals for the remainder of the song and has no clarinet closing. Sorry! You may want to check-out this track anyway, it's quite good.
