Subject: Dollar
Dollar were not an 80's band, as some thought. They actually began in early 1978 with "Shooting Star".
Their name originated from the band "Guys & Dolls" - a boy/girl cabaret sextet which Dave and Thereza were members of.
The Dollar Album was released in 1982 on WEA, just before they split, and The Very Best of Dollar in 1979 on Carrere which was a compilation of their singles.
I'm working on a more comprehensive website for this duo - and it's a shame they aren't recognised as the prototype for acts like Madison Ave, Bachelor Girl, The Eurythmics, and Swing Out SIster to name a few.
