Subject: I'd like to say something about a local event...
I'd just like to take a moment to honor the six firemen who recently gave their life in the line of duty in Worcester, MA (the city my hometown borders, and one of my other web sites deals with). They fearlessly went into a building last Friday that most people used to get lost in during the day, let alone during a fire. It's the worst tragedy our fire department has seen, and one of the worst in our state's history.

You know I hate to hear stuff like that, but 50 years ago a Woolworth's store in the town that I live caught fire and seven firemen died. I tend to think that what happened in Worcester is like what happened in that Woolworth's store. I wasn't around to be a witness, but my mom remembered the horrible event. BTW, have they found any more of the dead firemen? I know they found one of them. And the fire still burns there, as far as I know, so it might be some time before they find the other five…

they've still only found the one fireman.. they've found small bits so far, like the badge of one of them, their lifelines.. they at least found the people who set the fire, a 19 year old homeless girl and a 38 year old homeless man who were having a fight.. they never even tried to tell anyone there was a fire or that there wasn't anyone else in the building..
