Students in my 11 grade English classes are creating a memory book. We need prices for cigarettes, movie ticket, bubble gum, hair cut, pop, pair of jeans, shoes and school lunch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, judy E. curry and students

I can get you prices for almost any particular year of the 80s for jeans and shoes.. let me know what year you want and I'll check my sears catalog for that year..
cigarettes steadily increased throughout the decade, from about a dollar to almost two.. I'm not a smoker so I can't be more precise than that..
movie tickets we're about $5 for most of the decade
bubble gum was about 35 cents a pack, soda was about 50 cents a can
hair cut is about the only thing I can't remember the cost of.. I think I paid about $8 for a haircut for most of the 80s, men's haircut at a barber..
