I remember the show quite well! I think the actual spelling was "Puffnstuff" but i couldn't be 100% sure. Jack Wild played the young boy involved, this coming after his role of the Artful Dodger in the musical feature film "Oliver". I haven't ever searched the web for anything to do with the show but i'll have a go and let you know if i find any thing.
