Marc Almond is from Leeds, England, and was originally part of the 80's group Soft Cell. They had a huge hit with "Tainted Love" After Soft Cell broke up, Marc recorded with Marc & The Mambas, then went totally solo. He's been quite prolific, so between his Soft Cell stuff and his solo recordings you should be able to find plenty of music to keep you occupied.

not too mention he's teaming up with his former partner from Soft Cell for a new album to be out next year... I forget where I read that
