Subject: the last american virgin movie
There is a song in this movie that i have been dying to find i do not know the name of it or who sings it but here are some words: "woo no i can't sleep any more baby woo no i am going crazy for love over you" I tired to look for the soundtrack but they do not have one. I was once told it was by the commodores but i have search through their alblums and nothing. if any one knows please let me know. For anyone who has seen the movie the song plays in the scene where rick takes the girl to the football field and gary finds them there. Thanks

I'm afraid you were given misinformation about the existence of a soundtrack to the movie "The Last American Virgin". Indeed there was one, although it's long out-of-print. It was released in 1982 on Columbia 38279 here in the U.S., and was available on both vinyl LP and cassette (I have the cassette myself). To this day, it has never been re-issued on CD here in the States. In fact, the soundtrack is quite collectible, going for as much as $75-$100 on LP, when you can find it. So if you happen to run across a nice copy for anything less than $20, consider yourself very lucky!
The 10 songs on the soundtrack were as follows: 01) "Teen Angel Eyes" - TOMMY TUTONE; 02) "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" - THE POLICE; 03) "Whip It" - DEVO; 04) "When I Find You" - PHIL SEYMOUR; 05) "Better Luck Next Time" - OINGO BOINGO; 06) "Are You Ready for the Sex Girls?" - GLEAMING SPIRES; 07) "Since You're Gone" - THE CARS; 08) "I Know What Boys Like" - THE WAITRESSES; 09) "Airwaves" - THE FORTUNE BAND; and 10) "I Will Follow" - U2. Somebody else recently posted on this message board that they wanted to start their own web site on Tommy Tutone; it's worth noting that "Teen Angel Eyes" was recorded by the band exclusively for this movie soundtrack, and this excellent song does *not* appear on any of their three albums!
As for your "mystery song" that was heard during the movie, I'm afraid it was one of the tunes that failed to make it onto the official soundtrack (which means you don't have to worry about shelling out $100 for it, LOL!). Anyway, the song is indeed by The Commodores, and is simply titled "Oh No". It was a top 5 hit in the Fall of '81 (i.e., shortly before the movie even came out), and of course penned and sung by Lionel Richie. It was off their 1981 album, "In the Pocket". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print in all formats, although it was re-issued on CD here in the U.S. However, "Oh No" can easily be found today on numerous "Best of..." and "Greatest Hits" compilations put together by Motown on The Commodores. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info. Who does the liner credit as the writer/writers? How much will you charge for a cassette dub of the song?????? Let me know.... Shannon

I was lucky to find this soundtrack for sale online in the LP format for only $6.00, so I bought it; I guess the seller didn't realize how rare it was. I was wondering if anyone knows of the existence of the soundtrack from the movie "The Sure Thing" from 1984. Most sources say that it was never released, but a couple say that it was. If it does exist, I would really like to buy it, because it was a great soundtrack.
