Subject: freaks & geeks
Oh my GOD! Have you seen the TV show Freaks & Geeks? It's set in a suburban high school in the 80s & focuses on a brother (geek) and sister (freak) just trying to survive. It's totally freaking awesome -- can you tell I went to high school in the 80s and can totally relate? I definitely recommend checking it out if you're staying home on a Saturday.

You are right.
This show is GREAT. It's like a "Wonder Years" for those who grew up during the early 80s (and late 70s to an extent). I was afraid it might be a sitcom like "That 70s Show," but it has (in the two episodes that have aired) shown itself to be a very thoughtful program - both fun and serious - that treats its subject with respect instead of something to goof on. For those of you who were in junor high or high school during the early 80s, this is the show to watch if you want to relive memories.
Excellent show.

I'm with you guys...I thought it was going to be some cheesy sitcom, but it really IS like an '80s "Wonder Years"! I'm about to lose my mind with nothing interesting to watch until Nov. 7th (I'm a flaming X-phile), and this (along with "Frasier") really helps. Now, if we could just get this baseball BS over with.....

yeah, I agree.. it's going to have the pilot episode rebroadcast before the next new episode on October 29th, with the new episode on the 30th at it's usual timeslot.. damn baseball playoffs pre-empt everything good it seems.. no new X-files or Ally McBeal until the end of the month too... it seems like the last few years everything has started later and later for new shows.. makes me wonder why I even bother watching them anymore

I don't have anything against baseball, but I *CAN'T WAIT* for the finals to be over so we can get back to seeing this show. It's too awesome. Have you seen the Halloween clip on their site? Check it out at nbc.com/freaksandgeeks -- it's in the extras area at the bottom. I totally did this when I was a freshman in high school, too funny.
