Subject: In search for song....
I need to find a particular song from the late 80's. It was a humerous song titled (get ready for this...) "Somebody Farted". Someone told me that maybe Dana Dane sang it, but I cannot find it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

No, it wasn't Dana Dane. "Somebody Farted" was by a group called Bobby Jimmy & the Critters. They were a rap/r&b act out of Los Angeles, in the same sick/humorous novelty vein as Blowfly (although not quite as heavy on the sexual content). They were popular from the mid '80s to early '90s, and best known for their moderate r&b hit from the Summer of '86, "Roaches" (it was a parody of Timex Social Club's top 10 pop hit, "Rumors"). Most of their songs were quite funny...
Due to its content, "Somebody Farted" was never a hit, but it was indeed from the late '80s (about 1988-89, I think). I have Bobby Jimmy & the Critters' 1986 album w/ "Roaches" (titled "Roaches: The Beginning"), but that wasn't the one w/ "Somebody Farted". However, I know I also have a later album of theirs (might be a "Best of...") w/ "Somebody Farted" on it around here somewhere, but it's been awhile since I listened to that one. I'm pretty sure the album is long out-of-print, and therefore would be quite hard to find today (unless maybe you live in SoCal). Further complicating matters would be the fact that Bobby Jimmy & the Critters were never signed to a major label. If I find it, I'll be sure to post all pertinent info here...
(Man, can't believe I answered this one-maybe I do spend too much time collecting '80s music, LOL!)
