Subject: Help me please
Does anyone know the song that these lyrics came from: "How's life in the big city? I here the competition's pretty tough." I really need to know.

That would be "Don't Talk to Strangers" by Rick Springfield, a top 5 hit in the Spring of '82 (and my all-time personal fave by RS). It was off his 1982 album, "Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet". Fortunately, the album is currently available on CD here in the U.S. "Don't Talk to Strangers" was also included on Springfield's 1989 "Greatest Hits" collection (still in print on both cassette & CD), as well as RCA's recently-released 1999 compilation, "The Best of Rick Springfield" (CD only, but highly recommended-this is the one to get!).
Incidentally, I will be seeing RS live for the third time on his current tour next month-he really does put on an excellent show! Oh, and did I mention that about 80% of the crowd at his concerts are women?!? ;-)

Sounds like "Don't Talk To Strangers" by Rick Springfield in the early 80s.
