I prefer groups over single artist, but here is my top 10 of female singers...
1) Maggie Reilly 2) Debbie Gibson 3) The Bangles 4) Kate Bush 5) Jane Wiedlin (anybody saw her in Bill&Ted?) 6) Belinda Carlisle 7) Madonna 8) Bonnie Tyler 9) Heart 10) T'Pau
There are a couple of groups in there, but all with female (lead) singers.
