Subject: OK... here's the plan for the next three months
as I'm sure you're all aware at this point, I haven't been updating the decade sites very much the past few months. That is going to change very soon. Here is my plan of attack.
1) Convert existing pages, so that data is separated from content. To site visitors, this is a fairly invisible process. To me, it's a lot of work. I hope to finish it by the end of September.
2) Create a new front page. The goal of the new front page of the site, is to display what new information I have added to the site recently. Since it's impossible for me to add everything I get (or have already gotten) submitted to the site everyday, this will let you see what new content has been submitted. I've put most of that into place already, I just need to finalize it. I plan on doing this sometime in October.
3) Process every band info submitted. This is a two step process. First I'm going to just add everything, deleting obvious spam. Second pass, will entail looking at each band page, one by one, and removing duplicate/incorrect info. This is going to be ongoing for the month of October.
4) Process every TV show entry submitted. Currently, there is something like 10,000 entries for TV shows. I'm going to try and do it like the band pages, but I don't know how effective that will be. I plan on doing that for November.
For now, check the messageboard regularly. If I need help with something, I'll post a message asking people to look at a page, send me comments, etc.
