After what happened this past week at the World Trade Center, the '90s have had a full blown rose coloring given to it. Now the '90s have become the "good old days". A "sweet and innocent" time. Whatever. People laughed when I told them the '90s would get the rose color treatment the '80s got,........well it has BEGUN.

Must be just in your area, nothing like that is happening here. There are terrible things that happen in each generation. I hardly think something as horrific as this has anything to do with the 90's. Or the 80's. Or the 70's.....

Every decade has had its horrible news events and tragedies...JFK, Martin Luther King assasinations, Watergate and hostages in Iran, the Challenger explosion, Oklahoma City bombing, Princess Di...I could go on...

What does what happened at the WTC last week have to do with the '90's? I fail fail to see how these events have any impact on the '90's.

America just lost its innocence for the Umpteenth time. We lost our innocence during Pearl Harbor, WWII, assaination of JFK, Vietnam, and Watergate and Oklahoma bombing. Once again we have lost our innocence. People have been killing each other since the dawn of man. This kind of terrorits attacks, while happening all over the world, never happened in America. So because they never happened in America, we are now in a "new" viloent filled world that we "weren't in" during the '90s. This violent world never existed before to many people. America "woke up". The '90s are now seen as a time of peace and co-operation. Now the '90s are "the good ol' days". A "sweet and innocent" time. This rose coloring happened about 5 or 6 years ahead of schedule, but I always knew it would happen. It happened to the '80s, so ofcourse it would happen to the '90s.

personally, i have not heard one person call the 90s the sweet and innocent decade. i have heard my friends look back on it fondly coz we were small kids then, but thats it. no body looks back on it as sweet and innocent in the fighting sense.

No big surprise really, but you are the only person I've seen intimate any such thing. It's all relative, and has nothing to do with what's going on in the world. My "good ol' days" could fall anywhere from the mid 70s to about 1987, when I graduated college. Others will have a different time frame, but more often than not it will be tied to their youth.

Didn't we already go down this road once?

How can any decade be called the good ol' days..there was never a thing...as for "rose coloring" I think that is our nations heart bleeding...

btw....what about the Persian Gulf War..the Trade Center Bombings...how is that "good"
