Amen to that. I have been praying for two days now. It doesn't seem real. It sure does make all my problems seem trivial. Keep praying everyone.

: to the victims and their loved ones.

Events in the 1980's that shocked us:

Eruption of Mount St. Helena
Assassination of John Lennon
Challenger Explosion
Mexico City Earthquake
Chernoble Nuclear Accident

All these tragedies combined in the 80's does not comes close to what happened yesterday. We all pray for the families who lost their loved ones.

AMEN. My husband and I have been out of NY for 11 years. He used to work in Building 7. My father in law was in Building 5 and made it out (he'd been in the second tower BEFORE either plane hit), Thank GOD. It touches all of us in different ways, ways we may not even imagine yet.

There were postings here a while back about how some of us have this false memory of innocence in the 80's - well, compared to this, we really were innocent. God bless.

Hairspray,

I also send out prayers to these individuals here! I know that more will come from this in the days to come!

With the world tittering on the verge of economic and social collapse, our prayers are needed now more than ever in the history of humanity. No matter where you are in the world, you are going to be affected, in some way, shape or form, by what happened in New York and Washington yesterday. The horror is far from over. Whatever your faith, I implore you to pray. To pray for peace and salvation. Pray for humanity. Wherever you are and whatever your religious denomination, please join us in prayers not just for the United States, but for our Planet Earth...

This has been a truly sad day for all of America. Like Wicked Lester said, all that is running through my mind is the images of that plane ramming into the side of the building. I cried for half the day thinking of all those people killed (murdered). Who knew that such evil existed in the hearts of humankind? All my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims tonight. BTW, if you can, please donate blood. I called the Red Cross and you have to make an appointment to donate blood or you will be in for a mighty long wait.

I keep hoping that I will wake up and all of this will be some sort of terrible dream. I have been trembling all day, in a state of shock. It just doesn't seem possible that I have seen the hideous images that I have seen over the past ten hours. I don't know what to say, think or feel. One thing for certain, I will be praying tonight like I have never prayed before in my life. I will be praying for all of the people murdered today. I will be praying for the families of everyone that died. I will be praying for the American people and its indomitable spirit. And I will be praying for those people responsible for this heinous crime, knowing that they will be burning in hell for eternity. I hope that you will all join me in my prayers.

You know Michael, at this point I really don't care enough about the people responsible for this to worry about their souls. I can pray for the victims, but the scum who did this will have to make their own peace.

For certain, this is the most tragic day our nation has experienced in any of our lifetimes. Challenger, Beirut, they don't even come close.
I just can't get the image of that plane knifing into the WTC out of my mind, probably never will. We lost something today as a nation that we won't get back.

Well said Lester..that is the image that sticks in my mind too. I just find the whole thing unbelieveable. I woke up to the phone with my husband telling me what had happened, and I couldn't believe it. I came out and turned on the tv--it was just surreal to me. Even watching it over and over, as I have today, it just doesn't seem possible. My phone started ringing off the hook, (my husband is in the military, so everyone was concerned if it would affect him directly) and my kids were just confused. My daughter just said "Look momma, that's like a fire" and asked why it was on fire. I don't know if it's connected or not, but she put on a fire fighter costume tonight. It was really something to see.. I know they likely won't remember all this (they are only 4 and 7) but it sure will stick in my mind forever. Just like Reagan being shot, the Challenger exploding, and the Oklahoma City bombing. This has been a terrible day for our country, and though I can pray for the victims and their families, I just hope we can find out who did this and hold them accountable for it.

You got it right Lester....I said the same thing...how can you ever get that image out of your mind. I honestly thought I would throw up. And that is how I awoke this am.. my mom and sis came storming into my room yelling it to me and the hubby...I couldn't even get awake to focus on the tv.....my God have mercy on the murderers souls...and may God give peace to the families of those that are gone....

BTW WL..it was open heart..all is ok...and I will talk to you tomorrow
