Subject: firestarter: do you know?
In the spring of this year 2001 I was an extra in a movie, to my understanding it was a sequel to the 1984 movie firestarter. I think it is going to be a made for tv movie, has anybody heard anything on this sequel. If you have e-mail me.

Hi,
Yep. As of July 2001, the working title is Firestarter Rekindled. It is supposed to air in December on the Sci-Fi channel.

Has anyone been an extra in a movie, or a full blown "actor" in a movie? I was an extra in Major League II (oh boy) when I was in college. My roomate and I heard about it and drove down to Camden yards for a day of shooting. It was pretty cool, actually (yah, 10 hours of moving all over the stadium and pretending to cheer for a team that was mostly not on the field, all for $50!) we met Omar Epps (who hadn't really done anything yet), but the "big" stars were not there that day (Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger--yum). they asked my roomate and I to come back to shoot another day when Randy Quaid was going to be there (for continuity), but unfortunately, they called her first, and she told them she couldn't make it because she had class that day, then told them not to bother calling me, either, because I would also be in class...(Who wouldn't cut class to do that???) my big movie career was thwarted!! but at least i can play the "6 degrees to Kevin Bacon" game using myself..! haha, ok, I'll stop now... (hey, at least I didn't post my resume, though, right?)
anyone else??

You lucky girl !! I love Tom Berenger.
The first time I was an extra was on "Where the Heart is" not the recent one, this was in the eighties. Met Dabney Coleman and Christopher Plummer. Then "Cocktail" with Tom (sigh) Cruise. I was in one of the bar scenes. THEN, the next day I was at work, right out my window overlooking the parking lot, was the set for the basketball scene !! We all kept running outside during our breaks and lunch to watch Tom and Bryan. Tom was a real sweetie, he kept laughing at us and he recognized me !
I live in Toronto and we get a lot of movies filming here. Mel Gibson was here in the eighties making "Mrs. Soffel" and he had a minor car accident right outside the building where I worked. I don't think many people recognized him tho, but I sure did !!
Next(I think ?!)was Three Men and a Baby. Again, a party scene. I think I got those because of my "big eighties hair" and my wardrobe.
Then I did a day on a Kenny Rogers Christmas movie. He was a little stand-offish, but the cool thing was that David Foster, the writer-producer came by the set.
I'm such a FAN. Every time I see the trucks and lights I HAVE to go see who I can see ! Most of the time the crew doesn't mind, as long as you are quiet and stay out of the way.
