I was just wondering exactly when MTV debuted in the U.S. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

The debut of MTV was actually August 1, 1981. The first video shown was indeed "Video Killed the Radio Star". I know the 2nd video shown was from Pat Benatar. I wanna say it was her song "Hell is for Children".
