Subject: In Memory of the SHERMAN OAKS GALLERIA
I never got to Los Angeles, but if I ever did one place to visit that would be at the top of my list would have been the famed SHERMAN OAKS GALLERIA in the San Fernando Valley. The classic legendary mall where FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, and VALLEY GIRL were filmed. The epicenter of early 80s Valley coolness. I just read that the SHERMAN OAKS GALLERIA had been closed for renovations for a few months, and then just recently it was torn down altogether. It won't return. Imagine that, an entire mall closed, and torn down. This like totally sucks fer sure.

Where did you read this about it being torn down if I might ask. I had heard that the complex was an office tower and the mall, that the tower was coming down but the mall was to be gutted and renovated for office space (they supposedly have a huge parking garage which I hear is a luxury in LA) and some restaurants and small shops. Their website is still up (www.shopthegalleria.com) and it just says closed for renovations.
