Subject: what age are you?

Written By: Stacey on 7/30/1999 at 9:27 p.m.

Just out of curiosity, what age is the person(s) who read this message board? I am 32 (class of '85) and pretty much grew up in the 80's. It surprises me that some of the people who love the 80's are actually alot younger than I. If you read this message, respond back with your age and/or year of high school graduation. Let's see how many 90's Gen Xers really like the 80's!

yes, I had a pair of Nikes with velcro straps. and I also had this pair of shoes that were made by Connie or Fanfare that looked alot like Jazz dance shoes only they had more of a wedge sole. They were very c omfortable and I still wish I had them. are you talking about The original Reebok hightop aerobic shoe that had the velcro up near the ankle?? I just had a pair this year! ha ha. I wore t hem to work since they were about the only pair of all white shoes to be found. Everyone thought I was a little out of style and ought to be wearing a big clunky pair of running shoes. (i am a nurse.) are you old enough to remember when the Knickers were in style and plaid skirts with sweaters and brown loafers??

I had so many of them, except I never wore the penny loafers only the sadle shoes...LOL. Do you also remember Kangeroo's? The sneakers with the pocket on the side..LOL..that was funny stuff.

Yes I remember the Kangaroos. they were red with a little zippered pocket. We thought we were so "in". and now it is all big joke!! I remember when I was in the 6th grade and everyone started wearing their pants rolled up. I thought this trend truly originated at out school in Arkansas! Then I saw people wearing them on Tv and thought we must be really influential!! You may be too young for to remember that. Do you remeber the Connie shoes that were like brown suede type shoes that looked kind of like a trapezoid. They actually were shaped like your foot? Instead of pointy in the center they were pointy above the big toe. They were UGLY....

I remember when the "Pegged" pants pants were in. That was funny. I do not remember those shoes, :-( hmm I wonder if I saw them if I would remember. I don't know though. All I know it is a wonder why none of us 80's kids ever went blind with all the neon colors we used to wear. do you remember when denim purses were in and the girls carried around the make up bag with a big bottle of aqua net and a brush...LOL.

Did you ever see Romy and Michelle's high school reunion?? That movie is the best goof on the 80's, it is better then the Wedding Singer because it is all a girls view. A definate two thumbs up!

The beads were these beads that you could buy several different colors of and twist them together and then use a clasp at the back to hold them around your neck. you could pick the colors of beads that matched your clothes. yes I saw romy and Michelle. It was very funny. I have not seen the wedding singer. What is it about??

Oh Geez I think I remember those beads. The Wedding Singer is exactly what the title stands for. It is about Adam Sandler who is an 80's wedding singer who got stood up at the alter and tries to get his life back together. It is pretty funny. I definatly recomend that. Do you see how long our messages are on this thing. LOL

I am sure everyone reading this thinks we must be bored. Well after a day of dealing with sick people with serious problems it is nice to do something that requires virtually no thought and no stress!! when did you say you graduated?? Do you remember that song "Jungle Love". It came out in 84 or so.

"Jungle Love" Hmmm don't think so, I remember "Jungle Fever" "he's got jungle fever she's got jungle fever.." lol. Hey do you remember that "Walking Like a Dinosuar" that was a funny song, it was just one of those fun ones. Also too, the other week I heard that "Ghostbusters" was celebrating its 10 year anniversary. I thought I was going to die, I can not believe it has been that long since GB came out!!! Time sure is a passing..LOL
