Subject: B.J. and the Bear
Could anyone please tell me if the show ever had a movie put out or if there is anyway to get tapes of the shows that aired on TV? My husband is a truck driver and the company he drives for now owns the "B.J. and the Bear" truck. My 9 yr. old son is fascinated by trucks and collects everything he can find. I would love to have some of the "B.J." stuff to add to his collection. Any info would be greatly appreciated. :-)

I can't answer your question, but just wanted to say you're one of the few people I've seen that even remembers the show. I've asked a lot of my friends if they remember that show, and they act like it never existed. Glad someone else but me remembers it! BTW, wasn't the driver's name B.J. McKay?

I used to watch that show all the tiem with my grandfather on Friday or Saturday night. It was definitely BJ McKay. I never did understand why the chimp was named "The Bear" though. If they ever explained it, I don't remember why...
Check on ebay, there are a few items out there, including a couple of the small die-cast trucks, plus some other goodies. Search using "BJ and the bear" (no periods in BJ) and you can find them. Or click the link below.
Later.

He was named after the great college football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
I don't have a problem with people remembering "BJ & The Bear", but nobody seems to remember the spin-off with Sheriff Lobo. I think it was simply "Lobo".
Kinda like the way that I'm the only one I know who remembers the "Dukes Of Hazzard" spin-off "Enos". Maybe I just spent too much time in front of the TV. >;-P

Hey, I remember Lobo and Enos too! I never really watched them (and let's face it, the only reason why I watched Dukes was to see Katherine Bach in those short pants), but I remember that they existed. One of my cousins was crazy about BJ and the Bear - wanted to become a truck driver in fact. Turned out to be a lawyer, which many people would consider a step down. LOL
