Subject: Choose Your Own Adventure Books
Did anyone else enjoy reading the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books? I was addicted to these books back in the early 80s as a kid. In the story, you would come to a page where you had to make a decision: one would lead to tragedy and the other would lead to success! I haven't seen these books in years, and was wondering if they were still being published?
Subject: I loved those books
Oh yeah, I used to be addicted to those books! I just looked the title up on Amazon.com and found three different titles. I don't know if those are old or new ones.

I have an 'Indiana Jones' book in a box somewhere. I loved those. I think I remember seeing something similar a couple years ago, because it reminded me of that 'Indy' book.

Yeah,I liked Choose Your Own Adventure, but TSR's Endless Quest books were better in my opinion. They were more fantasy oriented than the CYOA books. Other good books like that are Advanced Dungeons And Dragons Adventure Gamebooks, Lone Wolf, and there were also some that were like these other books, but you actually played the book, keeping track of items, armor, and hit points like in a role playing game. Cool stuff. I have almost the entire D&D Endless Quest books. You can find them at garage sales all the time for like a dime!

Still have mine on the shelf. Well-worn, of course, due to the back-and-forth nature of the pages.
They spawned quite a few imitators, such as the Dungeons And Dragons (cool - more 80's tie-in ) series put out by Gary Gygax.
I don't frequent the kids' section of the bookstore as much as before, so I can't say if anything similar is still out there...

LOL I remember those D&D books too. I bought several of them when I was heavily into D&D, even though they were probably aimed a little lower than my age group. I have no idea what ever happened to them though.
