Subject: Retro Alternative Dance music

Hey guys,

I want to know what it was like to walk into an Alternative night club.. if there ever was such a thing. So, besides New Order, OMD, Ministry, and Yaz, what other alternative dance groups were popular??? I would like some more variety in my cd collection.. plus I love alternative dance.

Where I lived in the 80's (Phoenix) I recall hearing songs by these alternative dance groups at the clubs:

MCL (Micro Chip League)
CCCP
Camouflage
Front 242
Red Flag
Real Life
A Split Second
Baby Ford
Nitzer Ebb
Voyou
Xymox
Bigod 20
Book of Love
Siouxsie & The Banshees
Cabaret Voltaire
Moev
Depeche Mode
Die Warzau
Echo & The Bunnymen
Gene Loves Jezebel
Nine Inch Nails
The Smiths
Umodetic

Just to name a few... TX posted a great list of alternative dance tracks from the late 80's under the "Dance songs from 1989" thread in this messageboard. Hope this helps.
