ok i'm doing a report for school and we have to do a presentation. i want to dress up in clothes that a mainstream teenage girl from 85-86ish would wear, and i have no idea wht i should wear! any advice? the clothing needs to be easy to find and as cheap as possible... thanx!

I was growing up during the 80's and I have a a few ideas on what we were wearing. First almost every girl in my school wore slouch socks like WigWams in white and other colors and white Keds shoes. The classic Keds shoes style. Also they would wear either jeans and roll the legs up slightly so that the socks showed or they would wear the slouch socks over the jeans so you could see the socks. Or they would wear the slouch socks over a pair of leggings along with the same Keds shoes. For a shirt they usually wore a sweatshirt or a sweater or a turtleneck and sweatshirt combo with the leggings or jeans.

First of all...NEON was a big thing back in the day. Neon biker shorts under neon soccer shorts was the "in" thing. Layering socks was and side pony tails were totally awesome. Tight rolling the bottoms of your jeans so that your socks could show through was also very cool. Jeans with holes in the knees and cute stretch pants underneath was also something that I wore almost every day.
